The event, although it was solemn and non-religious, was held with restraint, which was helped by the absence of red carpets and the total absence of black in the dress codes, which were observed by most guests. The organizers managed to gather representatives from almost all platforms and ecosystems creating positive and patriotic content on the Russian internet. Leaders of the biggest media holdings were there, as well as bright newcomers from last year, like Oscar-nominated documentarian Maxim Arbogaev or blind travel host Vladimir Vaskevitch, who has traveled to 28 different countries.
The award was founded by the Institute of Internet Development in 2021 and the first awards were given out in 2022. Long-list nominations are made by members of the professional community, including producers, heads of platforms, channels, studios and creative agencies. In 2023 the number of categories increased and the organizers got 500 submissions. The finalists - the creators of sixty-six projects - were chosen by an expert panel and winners were decided by a vote from a jury. The whole process is supervised by a supervisory board headed by Sergei Kirienko, first deputy head of the presidential administration of Russia.
The ceremony was split into two parts and the first part took place on 18th May at the Zotov Moscow Center for Constructivist Studies. The winners were awarded in main categories in the second part.
